The splitting of parts from a traveler that uses Lot ID can be configured in a number of ways. The parent Lot ID can have a character or numeral added to trace the children or alternatively the original base Lot ID itself can be modified using either characters or numerals. The following configurations can be selected when defining the split Lot feature for a traveler:
Name of new split Lot:
- XXX splits to XXX.A - (i.e. Split LOT ID is amended to XXX.A, XXX.B, XXX.C etc...)
- XXX splits to XXX.1 - (i.e. Split LOT ID is amended to XXX.1, XXX.2, XXX.3 etc...)
- XXX.XX splits to XXX.XX.A - (i.e. Split LOT ID is amended to XXX.XX.A, XXX.XX.B, XXX.XX.C etc...)
- XXX.1 splits to XXX.2 - (i.e. Base Split LOT ID is modified to XXX.2, XXX.3, XXX.4 etc...)
- XXX.A splits to XXX.B - (i.e. Base Split LOT ID is modified to XXX.B, XXX.C, XXX.D etc...)
A traveler is split by pressing either of the Split buttons in the traveler windows vertical left hand side menu as illustrated below:
The following example illustrates how to configure the Split Lot function for a traveler. Open the Flow Definition that needs to be configured.
In the advanced tab activate the Split Lot feature in 'Lot Options', select the Split Lot syntax (see above) and the merge conditions (see list illustrated below).
Merge Conditions:
- Default-Allow Mulitple IDs on FR
- Overwrite Source ID with Destination ID
When the traveler parts are split the base name XXX is modified to XXX.A. Opening the Lot Records List we can trace the children of a parent Lot. In the example below a traveler with 10 parts (Lot ID: XXX) has 8 parts split to a new traveler (Lot ID: XXX.A) and then the new traveler has 4 parts split to another new traveler (Lot ID: XXX.B).
Note: If the original Lot ID was of the syntax XXX.A then the two split part Lot IDs would have been XXX.B and XXX.C.
