When a new potential customer is requesting a trial demo, an few appropriate logos needs to be created. These logos will be used in the application background, as well as on the reports.
You can try your best to obtain existing logos from the customers website. The main logo on the website might be too small for the watermark of 366 x 226, so make sure you find a suitable logo:
- Use the printscreen feature if the website is blocking downloads
- Use your favorite screen grabber application
- Look for publications with their logo
- Do an image search with Google, and search for the larger images
The following files with their correct ratio need to be generated.
- Logo100x58.gif - Ratio 1.7241
- Logo100trans2.gif - Same as above, with different name
- Logo185x70.gif - Ratio 2.6429
- Logo243x92.gif - Ratio 2.6413
- LogoWaterMark366X226.gif - Ratio 1.3759
Create the files in Photoshop Elements
First calculate the ratio for your image, for example an image of 3067 by 1634 has a ratio of 3067/1634 = 1.877. When the ratio of your image is smaller than the ratio of the picture you need to create, you first adjust it vertically, when it is larger, you first adjust it horizontally with the next to be explained 'Image resize' option.
The non water mark files are ease to create in Photoshop Elements. Take the following steps:
- Image -> Resize -> Image size (either horizontal or vertical, depending on the ratio)
- When the canvas is resized at the next step, the new created area needs to become white: make sure that the back ground color is set to white.
- Image -> Resize -> Canvas size (when the image size at step 1 was decreased horizontally, you need to increase the canvas size vertically. When the image size at step 1 was decreated vertically, you need to increase the canvas size horizontally.)
- Save the file: File -> Save for Web (use 256 colors)
- Repeat step 1 to 4 for the other non watermark files
For the water mark take the followign steps:
- First resize the image to the watermark dimensions as described before
- Add gradient Layer: Layer - > New Adjustment Layer -> Gradient Map
- Edit the gradient map:
- Start color: EAEAED (This is the EazyWorks background color of the desktop)
- End color: Depends on the colors used in the logo, but try C1C1C1
- Hint: When you set those colors as background and foreground colors before you do step 2, those colors will be used for the gradient layer you create
- Now you can save the Watermark file
Upload the files to the website
To upload the files take the following steps:
- RDP into the customer site
- administrator
- J.._
- Click the Websites icon on the desktop
- Go to: xxx.eazyworks.com -> App_Themes -> Normal -> Logo
- This folder should have default files, copy your files into this folder and make sure the other files are overwritten.
Now you are done, check the website. Click CTRL F5 if you don't see the logo's (some browser caches can be pretty persistent)
