There are different ways that materials can be received and placed in inventory (RMI or FGI):
- EZ-MES Purchase Orders
Creating new Purchase Orders will create new Part Records in the 'On Order' State at the moment the Order is received, the Part Records in the RMI State which will move the parts automatically into Raw Material Inventory (RMI).Useful links:
- Direct Inventory Adjustment
In the case where you have another application handling the purchase orders, and the materials you receive don't need individual traceability; then the easiest way to manage inventory is to use the Inventory Adjustment function. If Individual Traceability is required you can add materials to inventory, without manually creating a new traveler every time, by Linking a Receive Flow Definition to the Part Definitions.
- Customized Inventory Flows
By creating your own Inventory Process flows, you have greater flexibility on the way you want to set up the receiving process and the data you would like to record e.g. perform serialization, attachment of datasheets, assign location & category etc...
You can Create New Travelers based on your receive Flow Definition or you can link the Part Definition of the Parts you want to receive to your customized receive flow(s).
