Creating Step Definitions Video
Before creating a Flow Definition (a Flow Definition can be seen as a template for Travelers), you must first create Step Definitions. Step definitions are thought of as the various steps a part must go through, within the Flow Definition.
We will create Step Definitions that will create a finished product. The two steps we create will be as follows:
- Step 1 (Make Skateboard Deck (blank)): This step will make a blank skateboard deck and apply it to the step.
- Step 2 (Apply Graphics to Deck): This step will have graphics applied to the blank deck, then put the new deck with graphics into 'Finished Goods Inventory'.
Let's create our first Step Definition.

Step 4 (Step Name): Now that you are in the Step Definition form you can now enter your Step Name. For this you can be descriptive. You will want to be able to differentiate one step from another by looking at the step name.
For this example, please enter 'Get Blank Deck'.
Step 5 (Operation Number): You can enter your Operation Number here. If you already are following a certain operation number convention, feel free to continue using it. This text-box allows you to enter it manually. However, you can also use the built in Operation Number Generator icon located on the right end of the text-box.
For this purpose, please use the Operation Number Generator.
Step 6 (Revision): You can enter your step revision here. The Operation Number Generator will automatically assign a revision.
In this case, it assigned revision 'A'.
