Step Definition
Step Definitions are the EZ-MES Objects that are building blocks for Flow Definitions. A Step Definition represents the action/operation that is performed on the parts that pass through it. A single Step Definition can be reused in multiple Flow Definitions.
AKA: Step Definition are also known as:
- Operations
- Process Segments (ISA 95)
General Information about Step Definitions
The following features can be configured on a Step Definition:
- The Name Value data entries that the operator can fill out. (Can be made dependent on the Part Definitions that goes through the step)
- Constraints for the different Part Definitions that can pass through, they can be configured on the Step Definition Input/Output tab.
- Input-Output Conversion to change the Part Definition of the Part Records that will exit this Step Definition
- General Settings like a checkmark to determine if the processing time has to be recorded.
- Controlled Documents like Work Instructions for the Operator. These instructions will appear on the Travelers
