Unique ID's are special Name-Value Pairs that ensure that the value is always unique in the EZ-MES System. For example once a Serial Number for a Part Record is generated it's impossible to create another Part Record with the exact same Serial Number.
Step Definitions can be configured to assign Unique ID's to Part Records on Travelers. (E.g. Serialized numbers for Discrete Parts and Lot Numbers for Non-Discrete Parts.)
AKA: Unique ID's are also known as UID's, Serial Numbers, S/N, Lot Numbers, Batch Numbers etc...
NOTE: Unique ID's for the Lot Object are created by a Lot Name-Value Pair and not a UID Name-Value Pair. The Lot Object is used to group mulitple Part Records together like a batch of semiconductor wafers or a non-discrete roll of material.
