Before you can start tracking parts (products), batches, and lots within EZ-MES, an EZ-MES representation of the real-world part should exist in EZ-MES.
EZ-MES is using Part Records to represent Parts and Batches. A Lot is seen as a grouping of Part Records and has its own Object within EZ-MES (so a Lot is NOT represented by a Part Record).
There are a couple of ways these Part Records can be created:
- Purchase Orders
On the Inventory management Desktop you can Create New Purchase Orders. After you move the purchase order to submitted, Part Record will be automatically created for the ordered parts. The Part State for the parts will be 'ORD' (On order). At the moment the PO is received the Parts will move to Inventory.
- Create Parts Flow
You can create your own 'Add to Inventory' flows. These flows have to be of a Create type. Using the 'Create Part' option on the Flow Definition you can create Traveler that do not need to pick any Part Record, but that will create their own Part Records at the moment the Traveler is created.
- Adjust Inventory
Probably the fastest way to create parts is to adjust the Inventory counts with the Inventory Adjustment.
- Input - Output Conversion
New Part Records are automatically created for certain Input-Output Conversion
